August Green Book – Gold Rush in the Jungle

Gold Rush in the JungleJoin the Green Book Discussion Group and Potluck on Thursday, August 8, 2013. We are an open environmental/naturalist group of readers that grew out of our church’s Green Sanctuary program. We begin with a potluck meal at 6:30pm in the Lounge of the Channing-Murray Building. At approximately 7pm, we will discuss Dan Drollette, Jr.’s Gold Rush in the Jungle: The Race to Discover and Defend the Rarest Animals of Vietnam’s “Lost World” (2013). The book details the zoological discoveries found in the jungles of Vietnam, using research gathered from biologists, conservationists, and indigenous peoples to describe such animal species discoveries as a half-goat, half-ox, and a barking deer.  There are 3 copies in the San Antonio Public Library system. Contact: Diane Duesterhoeft. There will not be a Green Book Discussion meeting in July.
